Dogon - Mali

Are you curious about Africa? Have you heard stories of the Dogon tribe and always wanted to visit them? No other guides can show you more than the Dogon themselves.
The Dogon are an ethnic group located mainly in the administrative districts of Bandiagara and Douentza in Mali, West Africa. Within Mali this area is one of the poorest but the culture is rich. This area is composed of three distinct topographical regions: the plain, the cliffs, and the plateau. Within these regions the Dogon population of about 300,000 is most heavily concentrated along a 200 kilometers (125 mile) stretch of escarpment called the Cliffs of Bandiagara. Many live in small villages of less than 500. Tourism provides a sparkle of hope for the youth of Dogon.
